Our Story
It starts with a familiar ache—the kind you feel when you know something good is happening all around you, but it’s not quite connected. You see churches serving faithfully. Nonprofits doing good work. Individuals pouring out their lives for the sake of the city. But so often, they’re doing it alone.
There’s duplication of effort. Energy spent solving problems someone across town already solved. Moments of exhaustion that didn’t need to be faced in isolation. In a city where God is clearly moving, the Church sometimes feels fragmented—faithful, but disconnected.
Movement West Michigan was born out of that ache, and out of a conviction: that the followers of Jesus in this region aren’t meant to work alone. We’re called to work together. To reflect Christ not just as individuals or congregations, but as one unified Body.
We exist to unite Christian faith leaders to serve with humility and love for the flourishing of all in the community.
We don’t exist to build a name or a brand. We exist to join in what God is already doing—discerning the Spirit’s movement in neighborhoods, in ministries, in homes, and in city halls—and helping others come alongside it. Movement West Michigan serves as a relational platform, a connective tissue between Christian leaders and the real needs of the community. We believe that the Church can be more present, more faithful, and more impactful when we’re united in our discipleship and in our action.
And yet, we’ve seen the problem firsthand. Faithful leaders, full of passion and vision, often find themselves disconnected from one another. The result is repeated labor, missed opportunities, and the quiet discouragement of not knowing who else is in the work.
But the story doesn’t end there.
We’ve seen what happens when those same leaders come to the table together. When they pray. When they listen. When they share burdens and dreams. We’ve seen churches collaborate across denomination and language. We’ve seen nonprofit leaders walk hand-in-hand with pastors. We’ve seen schools, city leaders, and ministries align their efforts—not to compete, but to co-labor.
Movement West Michigan simply makes that space possible.
We gather stories and surface real needs. We build trust among leaders across sectors. We create rhythms of connection that lead to shared action. And slowly, the disconnected pieces begin to move in unison—not perfectly, but purposefully. And that movement leads to transformation.
Our dream is to see Holland and Zeeland transformed not by one church or one program, but by every follower of Jesus, growing in their faith through relational partnership with others. We imagine a city where discipleship is not confined to buildings but lived out in streets, schools, shelters, and shared tables.
We imagine a city where the Church is not many voices speaking over one another, but one voice—humble, hopeful, and full of love—proclaiming the Kingdom of God in every corner of our community.
And we’re not just imagining it.
We’re already seeing it.
And we’d love for you to be part of it.

MISSION & VISION
Our Vision
Our Why
We exist to unite Christian faith leaders to serve with humility and love for the flourishing of all in the community.
Our Strategy
Movement West Michigan is the platform connecting Christian leaders to each other and to the needs in the community. We do this by unifying the followers of Jesus Christ to deepen our lived discipleship beyond church walls and by amplifying what God is doing in the community.
The Problem
The followers of Jesus are disconnected from one another and therefore spend the necessary time, energy, and resources reinventing the wheel, doubling efforts, and missing opportunities to live fully into the transformative Gospel of Jesus Christ individually and collectively.
The Solution
Movement West Michigan is really a group of champions who desire to see the followers of Jesus Christ work together for the flourishing of the whole community. We do this by gathering data on the actual needs of the community and what is being done about it, by being a trusted relational partner of Christian leaders across sectors, by facilitating connections between Christian leaders on an individual and collective level, and by coordinating collective action to make a difference in the community.
Our Dream
Our dream is to see Holland and Zeeland transformed by every follower of Jesus in the Holland/Zeeland area intentionally growing in discipleship through relational partnership.
